Accounting Firms and Institutes Advisory Group Appointments

We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the UKEB’s Accounting Firms and Institutes Advisory Group (AFIAG):

Kirsty Smith is a Partner in EY’s Financial Reporting Group, based in the Leeds office. She has more than 20 years’ experience in technical roles, covering IFRS, UK GAAP, Company Law and other financial reporting requirements. She is a member of EYs Global Subject Matter Groups on Presentation and Disclosure and Revenue and a member of the CCAB LLPs SORP Steering Group. She is also author and reviewer of the firm’s leading publications “International GAAP” and “UK GAAP”.

Greg Stinson is a partner at KPMG and leads its Accounting Advisory Services practice. He has advised clients on a range of technical accounting and reporting matters for over 15 years, under UK-adopted international accounting standards, IFRS as adopted in other countries, UK GAAP, and US GAAP. Greg has experience across multiple sectors, including technology, telecoms, pharmaceuticals, media and energy. In previous roles, Greg spent eight years as an auditor for KPMG, in the UK and Australia.

The AFIAG provides the UKEB Board with specialist knowledge and technical advice on IASB projects under consideration for endorsement by the Board, and influencing projects under development; UKEB research projects; market developments; and financial reporting issues.
