10 July 2026

The UKEB Chair, Paul Lee, and Technical Director, Seema Jamil-O'Neill are delighted to host the inaugural UKEB Conference at the UCL School of Management campus in Canary Wharf today, which has brought together stakeholders to explore key accounting issues relevant to the UK. The conference provided the opportunity for open, cross stakeholder dialogue, and networking. Participants insights will directly inform and contribute to the UKEB’s ongoing work.

The morning session included a UKEB update and keynote presentation from Steve Cooper, Author and Investor. This was followed by interactive workshops led by the UKEB Secretariat covering Intangible Assets and Statement of Cash Flows and Related Matters.

The afternoon began with workshops led by the UKEB Secretariat which covered the UKEB Research and IASB Fourth Agenda Consultation and Provisions – Targeted Improvements. The workshops were a great opportunity for the UKEB Secretariat to hear from stakeholders and share knowledge on these important projects.

These were followed by a session looking at the use of generative AI in Accounting Education, Julia Morley (University College London) provided an opening address, after which there was a panel discussion by leading UK professionals. The day ended with audience Q&A for Paul Lee, and Seema Jamil-O'Neill.
