Academic Advisory Group Appointments

We are pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to the UKEB’s Academic Advisory Group (AAG):

Thomas Bourveau is Professor of Accounting at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where his research investigates the effects of financial and non-financial reporting and auditing on markets and the role of accounting standards. His research aims at informing policy on what can and cannot be achieved through regulations versus market forces.

Adriana Korczak is Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Bristol Business School. Her research lies at the intersection of accounting and capital markets, examining how financial reporting, corporate disclosure and regulation affect companies, investors, and financial markets. Adriana’s work spans the accounting and reporting of digital assets, financial reporting regulation, corporate disclosure and reporting, and insider trading.

Gilad Livne is Professor of Accounting at the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London. Gilad‘s teaching involves financial statement analysis, international accounting as well as introductory and advanced financial accounting courses. His research looks into auditor independence, international accounting, fair value accounting, and compensation. Gilad is also a co-author of Applying IFRS Standards,” 5th Edition, Wiley, 2025 and co-editor of Routledge Companion to Fair Value and Financial Accounting, 2nd Edition, 2018.

Argyro Panaretou is Professor of Accounting at Lancaster University Management School. Her research focuses on topics of high relevance to accounting standard-setters, and she is internationally recognised for her contributions to the fields of accounting for financial instruments, fair value accounting, credit risk reporting, and hedge accounting. She is a member of EFRAG’s Academic Panel and Chair of the EAA’s Financial Reporting Standards Committee.

The AAG provides the UKEB Board with specialist knowledge and technical advice on the UKEB research agenda; the UKEB research programme; academic engagement activities; and academic developments on financial reporting issues.
