UK Endorsement Board sets out year two of its three-year strategy

Date: 16 December 2022

The UK Endorsement Board (UKEB) has today published its (draft) 2023/24 Regulatory Strategy for consultation. In line with its mission, vision and values, UKEB is focused on influencing the development of high-quality international accounting standards that promote the UK public good by ensuring transparency and comparability of financial information thereby underpinning confidence in the UK’s capital markets.

The expected workplan for financial year 2023/24 will see the UKEB maintaining its focus on those aspects of the IASB agenda that are of highest priority to UK stakeholders.

UKEB Chair, Pauline Wallace, said:

“So far 2022/23 has been a year of achievements for UKEB, not least the Board’s adoption of IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts, our research report on goodwill accounting and publication of our Due Process Handbook. Our success is very much due to the dedication and commitment of the Board and Secretariat and the valuable input we receive from our stakeholders.

Next year promises to be another busy and productive year with a variety of research, influencing and endorsement projects on our proposed 2023/24 workplan and a continued focus on robust governance and due process.”

The 2023/24 Regulatory Strategy consultation will run until 27 January 2023. Respondents should submit their comments to UKEndorsementBoard@endorsement-board.uk by that date.

For operational reasons, the UKEB’s 2023/24 budget is incorporated within the FRC 3-Year Plan which is also published for consultation until 27 January 2023.
