Post-implementation Review of IFRS 10, IFRS 11 and IFRS 12

Timeline

The IASB published its Request for Information Post-implementation Review of IFRS 10, IFRS 11 and IFRS 12 in December 2020.  The IASB’s comment deadline is TBC

Background

The Request for Information (RfI) has been published as part of the Post-implementation Review (PIR) of the IFRS Standards for group accounting. The RfI seeks feedback on applying the following IFRS Standards:

  • IFRS 10 Consolidated Financial Statements—sets out requirements for the preparation of group consolidated financial statements;
  • IFRS 11 Joint Arrangements—addresses how to account for interests in joint arrangements; and
  • IFRS 12 Disclosure of Interests in Other Entities—sets out the information to be disclosed in the notes to the financial statements about interests in other companies.

PIRs are carried out to assess the effects of a new Standard after companies have applied the requirements for some time.

IFRS 10, 11 and 12 have been effective for annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2013.

The IASB will use the feedback received on the RfI to determine whether any further action is required.

The RfI is open for comment until 10 May 2021.
