Accessibility Statement

The UK Endorsement Board (UKEB) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to: https://www.endorsement-board.uk

How You Should be Able to Use This Website

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. You should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings.
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance listed below.

Non-accessible Content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

  • Many documents are in non-HTML formats, for example PDF. They are not accessible in a number of ways including missing text alternatives and missing document structure.
  • Some of the link text used historically in news articles is not written in a way that the purpose of each link can be determined from the link text alone or from the link text together with its programmatically determined link context.

What We are Doing to Improve Accessibility

The UKEB prioritises inclusivity and while our documentation is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2AA, we are dedicated to making ongoing improvements for all of our stakeholders. New documents we publish and documents you need to download, or fill in, to access the services we provide are fully accessible.

However, we know that some of our older documents, migrated from the previous version of our website, are not accessible. Some of them are not:

  • marked up in a way that allows screen reader users to understand them.
  • tagged up appropriately. For example, they do not contain semantic headings.

We will continue to retrospectively work through historical news articles to improve link text.

We are also obtaining further feedback to support our disclosure on accessibility. This includes, but is not limited to, non-accessible content, any disproportionate burden statements, or disclosure on content out of scope of accessibility regulation and actions taken. We intend to update from a temporary accessibility statement to a full version by November 2025 or earlier.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

The findings are based on an accessibility review of the new UKEB website carried out by the website developer, on UKEB’s behalf, prior to the website launch in May 2025. The website developer tested the website in the following ways:

  • Automated tests to check for common errors using Accessibility Insights and aXe Chrome plugins
  • Manual Accessibility Insights checks that cover keyboard navigation, keyboard traps, focus indicator and logical tab ordering
  • Manual zoom tests
  • Screen reader tests using Voiceover on Safari
  • Testing in High Contrast Mode emulated via Chrome dev tools

This statement was last reviewed on 30 April 2025.
