Operational Support and Oversight

The UKEB works collaboratively with both the Department for Business and Trade and the Financial Reporting Council.

Operational Support

The Financial Reporting Council provides operational support to the UKEB via a Service Level Agreement. The support covers a number of core operational areas including human resources, legal, finance and information technology. The UKEB has the same Accounting Officer as the Financial Reporting Council.

This operational support framework is designed to support the independence of the UKEB's technical decision-making.

Oversight Responsibilities

The Secretary of State for Business and Trade has oversight responsibility for the UKEB's discharge of it statutory functions, which includes its independent technical decision-making.

The Financial Reporting Council has oversight responsibility for the UKEB's performance of its governance and due process.

The UKEB reports annually to the Secretary of State and the Financial Reporting Council in respect of their separate areas of oversight responsibility.
